NVIDIA/Mellanox MMS4X00-NS400 InfiniBand Compatible OSFP 400G DR4 PAM4 InfiniBand NDR Optical Transceiver (SMF, 1310nm, 500m, MPO-12/APC, DOM, Flat Top)
The 400G DR4 OSFP Optical Transceiver is an InfiniBand 400Gb/s Single-port OSFP, DR4 single mode parallel transceiver using a single, 4-channel MPO-12/APC optical connector. The Reach 4-channel (DR4) design uses 100G-PAM4 modulation and has a maximum fiber reach of 500-meters using OS2 single mode fibers. It is qualified for use in InfiniBand NDR end-to-end systems. It is the ideal solution for supercomputing, seamlessly integrating into computing and storage infrastructure to ensure efficient high-performance interconnectivity. Used in ConnectX-7/OSFP adapters linked to Twin-port transceivers in 2x400G IB switches.

Q: Do you provide samples?
A: Sure, we provide that for the test.
Q: Why does the module use MPO/APC (Angled Polished Connector)?
A: The 100G-PAM4 optoelectronic devices are extremely sensitive to fiber reflections. Approximately 10% of the light reflects back to the transmitter when passing through the optical connector, causing signal distortion. These rays of reflected light can be deflected by APC connectors.
Q: Can an IB optical module be connected to an Ethernet optical module?
A: No, it is not possible. The optical modules on both ends need to be of the same type, either IB optical modules or Ethernet optical modules.
