Introduction:
The 801-B rheological additive is an advanced version of the traditional organic ammonium montmorillonite organoclay. This versatile additive is compatible with aliphatic and aromatic systems of low to medium polarity solvents, including mineral oil, paraffin oil, ***, xylene, and 200# solvent oil systems. Comparable to Bentone 34, it offers superior performance in various applications.
Application:
The 801-B additive excels as a thickening, anti-sink, anti-sagging, and thixotropic agent. Its applications span across all solvent-based paints and coatings, sealing compounds, cast coatings, and various types of grease, making it a highly versatile solution for industrial uses.
Usage:
The 801-B additive disperses effortlessly at normal temperatures. It is recommended to prepare a pre-gel and add it before the grinding process. Utilizing high-shear equipment will ensure optimal dispersion. The 801-B can be fully dispersed using polar activators such as carbonic acid allethrin, methanol/water (95/5), ethanol/water (95/5), or acetone. The ideal dosage of the polar activator may vary based on the system, typically ranging from 30-50% of the organoclay.
Dosage:
The recommended dosage of 801-B within a system is generally between 0.5-2.0% by weight, ensuring maximum efficiency and performance.
