1.What are the features of an aseptic pigging system?
Aseptic pigging systems recover liquid product from pipelines that require stringent hygiene and sterile conditions.It is widely used in manufacturing lines for extended-shelf-life (ESL) products and long shelf-life products, such as yogurts and desserts, pharmaceuticals and so on.
2. Why is it called pigging?
Why is it called pigging? It's not clear how the term pigging came about. Some say pig is an acronym for pipeline inspection gadget while others speculate it reflected the squeaky sound made by some cleaning pigs. Cleaning pigs are used to clear water and debris from pipes.
3.What are the benefits of pigging?
Pigging technology recovers this product residue from the pipeline. In this way, pigging systems increase yields and reduce the amount of waste produced. Without a pigging system, the product residue remaining in the pipeline would be discarded as waste as part of CIP, flushing and the cleaning process.
