  Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is the second largest plastic after polyethylene. The glass transition temperature is 80 ~ 85ºC, the density is 1.35 ~ 1.45g/cm, and the service temperature is-15 ~ 60ºC. PVC has excellent acid and alkali resistance, wear resistance, flame resistance and insulation properties, and it is well mixed with most plasticizers, so it can greatly change the mechanical properties of materials. Excellent processability, low price, but poor stability to light and heat, the performance drops rapidly above 100ºC or under light.
  PVC is prepared by free radical addition polymerization, including suspension, bulk, emulsion and solution, etc. Among them, the suspension method is the main method, which is initiated by peroxide and azonitrile. Loose resin particles can be obtained by adding dispersant, and the processability is good. The polymerization temperature is high, the chain transfer rate is high, and the molecular weight of the product is small. Generally, it should be stable within 0.5ºC. The solution polymerization product can be directly used as coating adhesive, and the emulsion polymerization product can also be directly used or spray-dried into a solid.
  Commonly used extrusion injection molding method. High-molecular-weight resin has good mechanical properties, and can be made into soft products after adding plastic agents, which are mainly used for films, packaging materials, containers and wires; Low molecular weight resin is easy to process, suitable for hard products, and used for pipes, boards, sewers and building materials. Vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer has good fluidity and low processing temperature, and is used for records, floors and coatings. Vinyl chloride-acrylonitrile copolymer has higher softening temperature, higher strength and improved solubility, so it is suitable for fiber. The weather resistance and impact resistance of vinyl chloride-acrylate copolymer are improved. Vinyl chloride-propylene copolymer has good fluidity and thermal stability, and can be used as bottle material.
