Application
Oil water content meter PTT-001 is specially designed to test the water in oil. It is an ideal choice for online testing or portable measurement of moisture content in lubricating oil and insulating oil to ensure proper operation of devices and machines. For example, moisture can have a huge impact on the insulating properties of transformer oil. Therefore, it is very important to have continuous detection of transformer oil.
The moisture measurement in oil is similar to that of air humidity. The water content in oil can be described as the absolute value in ppm and the relative value in water aw. PTT-001 can directly measure the water activity aw and temperature T in the oil. The absolute moisture content (ppm) of the transformer oil can be calculated through these parameters. The moisture content in other oils such as non-mineral transformer oil and lubricating oil can be calculated by specific parameters in the calibration oil.

- aw (The ratio between the actual water content in the oil and the saturated water content of the oil at that temperature)
aw = 0 indicates that there is no water in oil;aw = 1 means that oil is fully saturated.
