Mullite Cordierite I shape supports are also know as Plain Props as general basic kiln furniture, which are used to build various kiln furniture systems. The commonly used materials are cordierite-mullite, mullite, corundum and silicon carbide. Plain props are usually formed by semi-dry pressing, and some of them are formed by casting and hand making. The props have high compressive strength and very good high temperature creep resistance, and at the same time minimize the contact area with the supported kiln furniture or products to facilitate the cooling of the kiln furniture system. According to the classification rules of Trend products, plain props are subdivided into square props, I-shaped props, adjustable props, props with bases, concave props, and special props.
