Vane Type Demister Introduction
The DynaVaneTM style of mist eliminators embodies an advanced array of precision-engineered vanes. These vanes are crafted to expertly perform liquid droplet separation from vapor streams, harnessing inertial impaction as droplets engage with the vane surfaces. In this sophisticated process, the gas intricately weaves through a complex zigzag path among the vanes, achieving unmatched separation efficiency. Over time, various essential styles have evolved, setting the gold standard for specialized applications across the industry.
Rhine Ruhr takes pride in designing and manufacturing the following quintessential DynaVaneTM styles:
- The VC single pocket range, highlighting chevron vanes without drainage channels, delivers a sleek and efficient solution.
- The VDC double pocket range is ingeniously engineered with enclosed drainage channels, offering unparalleled efficiency.
- The HC single pocket range provides open drainage pathways, ensuring effective liquid removal.
- The HDC double pocket range features enclosed drainage channels, significantly boosting overall functionality.
The efficiency of droplet removal for any given droplet size is meticulously calculated using centrifugal forces and Stokes Law. Rhine Ruhr has developed cutting-edge computer models to precisely estimate droplet removal efficiencies, enabling the optimal tuning of vane geometry tailored for any specific application.
The liquid removal efficiency of the DynaVaneTM series impressively stands at 99.9% for droplets within the range of 10µ+ to 30µ+
Generally, droplet removal efficiency is elevated under the following conditions:
- Increasing Gas Velocity, which propels droplets with greater force against the vanes.
- Increasing the density difference between Gas and Liquid, fostering more distinct separation.
- Decreasing Gas Viscosity, which allows droplets to be more easily captured.
- Increasing Vane Angle, optimizing the impact and capture effectiveness.
- Decreasing Vane Pitch, enhancing the thoroughness of separation.
DynaVaneTM Mist Eliminators are meticulously custom-engineered to seamlessly blend with specific vessel arrangements. Each installation, whether it involves loose segments supported by annular rings and beams secured with retainer bars, or vane packs configured for seamless integration with a sealed gas box, is crafted for maximum effectiveness and simplicity.
- Loose segments are supported on annular rings and/or beams, secured with retainer bars.
- Vane Packs are designed for attachment to a sealed gas box.
In every scenario, the complete assembly is thoughtfully segmented and supplied in sections, each designed for easy passage through access manways, ensuring manageable installation within the vessel.
While every component is constructed of lightweight materials to facilitate straightforward installation and assembly, the overall build is robust enough to withstand a broad spectrum of service conditions, including vibrations and slugging, within a meticulously designed and appropriately sized vessel arrangement.

Note: Actual droplet removal size range will vary according to system properties. Mechanical Design: DynaVaneTM Mist Eliminators are custom manufactured to be compatible with the required vessel arrangement. Installation can be either:- · Loose segments supported on annular rings and/or beams secured with either retainer bars. · Vane Packs designed for fixing to a sealed gas box. In each case, the complete assembly is designed and supplied in sections which are sized to fit through access manways and are able to be man handled inside the vessel. Vane Packs consist of DynaVaneTM elements fully enclosed in housings with built in drainage sump. Although all parts are constructed from lightweight material to assist installation and assembly, the overall construction is sufficiently robust to withstand most service conditions including vibration and slugging in a suitably designed and sized vessel arrangement. |
