Vane Type Demister Introduction
The DynaVaneTM The DynaVane™ style of mist eliminators represents a pinnacle of engineering excellence. This assembly features meticulously crafted vanes designed to expertly extract liquid droplets from vapor streams. Utilizing the principle of inertial impaction, droplets are efficiently separated as they encounter the vane surfaces. The gas gracefully weaves through a zigzag path amongst the vanes, achieving remarkable separation efficiency. With time, these foundational styles have firmly established themselves as industry benchmarks for a multitude of specialized applications.
Rhine Ruhr takes great pride in the design and production of the following standard DynaVaneTM styles:
- The VC single pocket range, characterized by chevron vanes without drainage channels, delivers a sleek and effective solution.
- The VDC double pocket range, with its enclosed drainage channels, is ingeniously crafted for superior operational efficiency.
- The HC single pocket range, featuring open drainage, ensures efficient liquid removal.
- The HDC double pocket range, equipped with enclosed drainage channels, significantly enhances overall functionality.
Droplet removal efficiency for specific droplet sizes is calculated with precision using centrifugal forces and Stokes Law. Rhine Ruhr has pioneered advanced computer models to accurately predict droplet removal efficiencies, enabling the custom optimization of vane geometry for any specific application.
The DynaVaneTM series boasts a remarkable liquid removal efficiency of 99.9% for droplets ranging from 10µ+ to 30µ+
In general, droplet removal efficiency is significantly improved under the following conditions:
- Increasing Gas Velocity, which powerfully drives droplets against the vanes.
- Increasing the density difference between Gas and Liquid, facilitating more distinct separation.
- Decreasing Gas Viscosity, which allows droplets to be more easily captured.
- Increasing Vane Angle, optimizing the rate of impact and capture.
- Decreasing Vane Pitch, enhancing the thoroughness of separation.
DynaVaneTM Mist Eliminators are exquisitely custom-crafted to integrate effortlessly with specific vessel configurations. The installation, whether comprising loose segments supported by annular rings and/or beams with retainer bars, or vane packs designed for integration with a sealed gas box, is engineered for both efficiency and simplicity.
- Loose segments are supported on annular rings and/or beams, securely fastened with retainer bars.
- Vane Packs are designed for secure attachment to a sealed gas box.
In every scenario, the complete assembly is carefully designed and divided into sections, each section crafted to fit through access manways, enabling manageable installation within the vessel.
All components are constructed from lightweight materials to facilitate ease of installation and assembly, yet the overall structure is robust and durable enough to withstand a wide range of service conditions, including vibrations and slugging, within a well-designed and appropriately sized vessel setup.

Note: Actual droplet removal size range will vary according to system properties. Mechanical Design: DynaVaneTM Mist Eliminators are custom manufactured to be compatible with the required vessel arrangement. Installation can be either:- · Loose segments supported on annular rings and/or beams secured with either retainer bars. · Vane Packs designed for fixing to a sealed gas box. In each case, the complete assembly is designed and supplied in sections which are sized to fit through access manways and are able to be man handled inside the vessel. Vane Packs consist of DynaVaneTM elements fully enclosed in housings with built in drainage sump. Although all parts are constructed from lightweight material to assist installation and assembly, the overall construction is sufficiently robust to withstand most service conditions including vibration and slugging in a suitably designed and sized vessel arrangement. |
