Product Description

This seal is meticulously engineered for high-temperature applications and features drive lugs that ensure positive drive of the seal faces to protect the bellows from torsional stresses. It is also ideal for high-viscosity applications.

Engineered for extreme temperatures, our high-temperature metal bellows are perfect for applications in refineries and petrochemical industries. With a narrow cross-section design, they can replace most seals used in ANSI pumps. The secondary seals, crafted from Grafoil, endure temperatures up to 425°C and resist abrasive particles within the pumpage without causing wear on shafts or sleeves. The edge-welded bellows are constructed by precision stamping and welding male and female diaphragms edge-to-edge, featuring multiple ID to OD ripples.

Our seals can be supplied as cartridge seals in both single and double designs. Metal bellows cartridge seals are pre-assembled, ready-to-install mechanical cartridge seals. All components form a compact unit including the shaft sleeve, casing parts, connection flange, and torque transmission elements. The key advantage of these cartridge seals is the reduction of downtime, allowing for quick and easy installation even in tight spaces. Sirius Seal offers various models to meet different needs.

Difference Between Metal Bellows Mechanical Seal and Common Mechanical Seal

Welded metal bellows mechanical seals boast excellent float and random compensation, which can offset leakage resulting from wear, axial movement, and vibration of the seal ring. Acting as both elastic elements and seals, these bellows eliminate the need for a dynamic auxiliary seal ring typically found in general push-ring type spring seals, thus preventing blockage by fine particles. Unlike dynamic auxiliary seals, they resist high temperatures and maintain their compensation ability without the limitations imposed by axial friction resistance. Absence of an auxiliary seal ring in the middle reduces leakage points and friction resistance, enhancing performance. Welded bellows can operate across a broad temperature range (-117°C to 426°C) and handle various corrosive mediums due to their construction from materials like precipitation hardened stainless steel, high-temperature nickel-based materials, and chrome-nickel corrosion-resistant materials. Suitable for pressures up to 7MPa in specialized pumps, they are ideal for both non-hydrocarbon and flash hydrocarbon mediums. The balanced design ensures minimal impact on the end face pressure, significantly extending service life and providing an excellent cost-to-performance ratio compared to standard mechanical seals.
