Shims for HSS Keyway Broaches Keyway Shims
Shims for HSS (High-Speed Steel) keyway broaches are specific types of shims designed to assist in the accurate cutting of keyways using HSS broaching tools. Keyway broaches are used to create keyways (slots) in machine parts to accommodate keys and ensure proper alignment and torque transmission in machinery and mechanical assemblies.
Applications:
1. These shims are placed between the broach and bushing to permit the broach to cut deeper slots in succeeding passes through the hole.
2. For optimal performance and the best tool life the correct cutting setups and operations must be used and suitable lubricating/cutting oils or appropriate coolant fluids are recommended.
