Bit Face Shape Selection:
1. Drop Center Bit
Ideal for achieving high penetration rates in soft to medium-hard and fissured rock formations, operating under low to medium air pressures. Ensures optimal hole deviation control.
2. Concave Face
A versatile bit face suited for medium-hard and homogeneous rock formations. Offers excellent hole deviation control and efficient flushing capacity.
3. Convex Face
Designed for high penetration rates in soft to medium-hard rock formations with low to medium air pressures. Provides maximum resistance to steel wash, potentially reducing the load and wear on gauge buttons, albeit with lower hole deviation control.
4. Flat Face
Optimal for applications in hard to very hard and abrasive rock formations under high air pressures. Delivers excellent penetration rates and resistance to steel wash.
