Stainless steel plate surface description
Finish Designation | Method and degree of finish |
No.1 | After hot rolling, heat treatment, pickling or other equivalent treatment is applied. |
No.2D | Annealing and pickling are performed after cold rolling; material is soft with surface of silver-white luster; used for general applications and deep drawing. |
No.2B | After 2D finish, skin pass rolling is performed to obtain a more suitable luster; the surface becomes very exquisite; used for general applications. |
No.3 | Intermediate 100-120 grit finish; used for applications in which surface polishing is performed after shaping. |
No.4 | General 150-180 grit finish; used for restaurants and kitchen equipment and tools. |
#240 | 240 grit finish; used when a finer finish than No. 4 is required; typically for restaurants and kitchen equipment and tools. |
#320 | 320 grit finish polished product. |
HL | This finish is performed by continuous linear polishing using an abrasive of appropriate grain size; mainly used for architectural applications. |
BA | Achieved by performing bright annealing after cold rolling and then skin pass rolling to obtain even greater reflectance; provides excellent corrosion resistance; used for household appliances, kitchen equipment, and automobiles. |
8K | Through multiple grinding, it achieves very high brightness and smoothness, like a mirror. |

Daxun stocks 201 finished stainless steel plates (hot rolled and cold rolled). Because a portion of the nickel used in 300 series stainless steels (such as Type 304) is replaced with manganese, the 201 grade alloy is generally a high performance, lower cost, more stable austenitic stainless steel. In addition, the chemical composition of the 201 alloy provides better annealed mechanical properties than Type 304, which may provide further advantages in terms of weight reduction. Because the tensile strength of Type 201 is approximately 10% higher than that of Type 304, thinner gauges can be used, using less material overall. However, Type 201 stainless steel has lower chromium and nickel contents, so it is not as corrosion resistant as Type 304. 201 grade stainless steel is frequently used in domestic and commercial food service applications, construction applications, appliances, and other uses.
Corrosion Resistance: SS 201 sheet has excellent corrosion resistance suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. Its excellent corrosion resistance. Stainless steel sheet has excellent resistance to atmospheric conditions, moisture and specific chemicals, thus guaranteeing long-lasting performance and durability. By providing excellent resistance to atmospheric conditions, moisture and specific chemicals, it guarantees long-lasting performance and durability.
Plate made of 316 stainless steel sheet
While the quantity of nickel and chromium in grade 316 stainless steel plate is also significant, the addition of molybdenum improves the plate's resistance to corrosion, particularly against chlorides and chlorinated compounds. Because of these characteristics, grade 316 stainless steel plate is the perfect material for use in highly corrosive settings such as chemical processing, maritime environments, medical applications, and refining.
Uses for Stainless Steel Plates
For many industrial applications, stainless steel plate offers a corrosion-resistant, low-maintenance alternative. Stainless steel is commonly used for the following purposes:
- Food Processing & Handling
- Storage Tanks
- Heat Exchangers
- Electrical Enclosures
- Chemical Process Vessels
- Conveyors
- Architectural & Construction
- Marine Parts & Equipment
321 Stainless Steel Sheet
Daxun 321 Stainless Steel Plate (UNS S32100) is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel with excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion. This grade is designed for high temperature applications up to 1500°F (815°C), where the addition of titanium stabilizes the material against the formation of chromium carbides. Since titanium has a greater affinity for carbon than chromium, titanium carbides occur within the grains rather than at the grain boundaries. While its annealed corrosion resistance is comparable to 304 and 304L, it has stronger creep and stress rupture properties. These properties make it suitable for pressure vessel and boiler applications. 321 Stainless Steel is non-magnetic and heat resistant, allowing long-term use at high temperatures.
310S Stainless Steel Sheet
S31008 (310S) Sheet and Plate,Austenitic stainless steel alloy 310S (UNS S31008) is designed for applications requiring high temperature corrosion resistance. The alloy resists oxidation up to 2010°F (1100°C) with room temperature cycling. Alloy 310 can be used in moderate carburizing environments and is resistant to sulfidation due to its high chromium content and moderate nickel content. More severe carburizing environments in heat treating equipment typically require a nickel alloy such as 330 (UNS N08330). Alloy 310S can be used in bonding, nitriding, mild oxidation, and thermal cycling processes; however, a reduced maximum service temperature is required. Alloy 310 can also be used in cryogenic applications because it has low magnetic permeability and remains strong down to -450°F (-268°C). When heated to 1202-1742, the alloy precipitates the sigma phase (650-950°C). Hardness is partially restored by solution annealing at 2012-2102°F (1100-1150°C). This alloy is also available as a low carbon alloy, 310S (UNS S31008). It is easily fabricated. A high carbon modification, 310H (UNS S31009), is designed to improve creep resistance. In most cases, the grain size and carbon content of plate can meet both 310S and 310H standards. Standard shop fabrication procedures can be used to easily weld and process alloy 310.
2205 Stainless Steel Sheet
Daxun carries a large inventory of 2205 Duplex Stainless Steel Plate in thicknesses ranging from 1/16″ (1.0mm) to 6″ (152.4mm). The yield strength is approximately twice that of austenitic stainless steels, so designers can save weight and the alloy is more cost competitive than 316L or 317L. Versatile Uses 2205 Duplex Stainless Steel Plate is a duplex ferritic stainless steel consisting of 22% chromium, 3% molybdenum, and 5-6% nickel alloy. 2205 Duplex Stainless Steel has good fatigue strength and excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking, crevice corrosion, pitting, erosion, and general corrosion in severe environments.Grade 2205 is one of the most widely used ferritic and austenitic duplex stainless steels. The standards for this grade have been refined over the years to create a very versatile and strong product. It has excellent corrosion resistance (including in seawater), is weldable by all standard methods and has a high resistance to heat. Understand Contact Daxun for pricing.
At Daxun, we are pleased to provide customers with high-quality super duplex 2507 stainless steel plates, which are a 50/50 mixture of austenite and ferrite, stronger than pure austenite or iron alloys. Since its birth in the United States in the 1940s, it has developed to the third generation, and its main feature is that the yield strength can reach 400-550MPa, which is twice that of ordinary stainless steel, so the duplex plate can save materials and reduce equipment manufacturing costs. In terms of corrosion resistance, especially in media environments (such as seawater, high chloride ion content), the resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, stress corrosion, and corrosion fatigue of duplex stainless steel is better than that of ordinary austenitic stainless steel, and is comparable to high-alloy austenitic stainless steel. Daxun Alloys provides duplex 2507 stainless steel in a variety of forms and sizes, all of which comply with industry and international standards such as ASTM, ASME, EURONORM and AFNOR.
