In universal material testing machines, an S-type load cell measures the force applied to materials under test. As the material undergoes tension or compression, the load cell detects the force, sending precise data to assess material strength, durability, and elasticity. In hopper and tank scales, an S-type load cell measures the weight of materials by detecting the force exerted as contents are added or removed. When placed under a hopper or tank, the load cell senses the downward pressure and translates it into an electrical signal, which is then converted into a weight reading.

Multiple load cells connect to a multi-channel junction box, outputting a summed signal for display as a combined value on an indicator. The JB154S stainless steel junction box can connect up to four load cells, while the DT45 weighing transmitter provides analog output options (4-20mA, 0-10V), switch output, as well as RS232 and RS485 outputs to meet industrial field requirements. It is widely used in applications such as concrete mixing, metallurgy, converters, and in the chemical, feed, and food processing industries.
