Ideal for varying project requirements, the GCL can be expertly paired with an HDPE liner to enhance its waterproof efficacy. Unlike general calcium bentonite, which expands to merely three times its size, sodium base bentonite, when hydrated, can absorb up to five times its weight in water, expanding its volume 15 to 17 times its original size. The geotextile and nonwoven components securely encase the bentonite, providing reinforcement and safeguarding the integrity of the GCL, which boasts commendable shear strength.
