SO2/SO3 converter 1st cooler is an internal floating movable tube sheet and tube heat exchanger as SO2 cooler. It is located at the outlet of the first stage of the converter and cools the acid gas from 580°C to 450°C into the inlet of the second stage of the converter.
Tube range is SO2/SO3 gas mixture, shell range is cooling air. The material of the tubes is SS321 stainless steel, and the shell is carbon steel.
