Suspension overband magnetic separator sometimes also called overbelt separators consist essentially of a magnet (electro or permanent type) around which a belt called iron discharging belt. The machines featured by a permanent magnet are called model RCY, by an electromagnet model RCD.

Suspension overband magnetic separator usually suspend on the onveyor or over the head pulley.

Suspension overband magnetic separator is widely used together with various kinds of belt conveyors for auto iron removal from non-magnetic materials in continuous duty occasions with plenty of iron.

Suspension overband magnetic separator can protect downstream important and in most cases very expensive equipments from being potentially damaged by tramp metal.

How to work:

When the material mixed in ferromagnetic impurities pass through the suspension magnetic iron separator,the ferromagnetic impurities will be absorbed and collected on the self cleaning magnetic separator belt,with the movement of the self cleaning belt,the ferromagnetic impurities will be out of the magnetic field,then release beyond the product flow automatically.

Suspended Overband Magnets are also used in combination with metal detectors to offer complete peace of mind. This will ensure that any metal material embedded or trapped in or under the ore that may escape the magnetic separator do not pass the metal detector. Once a metal detector is tripped, the conveyor will stop and human intervention is required. This will ensure no metal components end up in the process that will cause costly problems.

Electronic control panel:

Electro overband magnet must be worked with electronic control panel,below is a part of control panel function:

1.Power Supply: The electronic control panel supplies power to the electro magnet unit and associated components.The electronic control panel converts AC electricity to DC, providing the electromagnetic magnet with the power needed to generate magnetic force. This conversion is crucial as it enables the magnet to create a strong magnetic field.

2.Magnet Activation:controling the activation and deactivation of the magnet's electromagnetic field. When activated, the magnet generates a strong magnetic field that attracts ferrous materials.

3.Variable Strength Control:allowing for adjustment of the magnetic field strength. This feature is useful for optimizing the magnet's performance based on the material being processed or the operating conditions. 

4.Safety Features:including safety features such as emergency stop buttons and overload protection circuits. These ensure safe operation and prevent damage to the equipment.

5.Monitoring and indication: including indicators or displays that show the status of the magnet (on/off) and may provide diagnostic information in case of malfunctions.   

6. Remote Operation:supporting remote operation, allowing operators to control the magnet from a distance using switches or a control interface.
