Product Description
Viscosity
The difference in PVOH viscosity affects the bonding strength, film-forming performance, water resistance and dispersant properties.
High viscosity products have excellent film formation, high strength adhesives, better emulsion stability and dispersion characteristics, and higher water resistance and shear viscosity in high solids coatings. These characteristics make it an excellent choice for adhesive applications, water-soluble films and adhesives.
Degree of alcoholysis: the key component of polyvinyl alcohol
PVOH products include four major PVOH series: partial alcoholysis, medium alcoholysis, complete alcoholysis and super alcoholysis. Compared with the lower alcoholysis PVOH, the water resistance of the complete alcoholysis or super alcoholysis type PVOH is improved. Fully alcoholylated and super-alcoholic PVOH solutions do not foam, which is different from partially alcoholyzed PVOH solutions.
The degree of alcoholysis is extremely important, because it will affect the water solubility or water resistance level, the dissolution temperature and the surface tension of the solution according to the characteristics of the customer's needs.
Use of alcoholysis
Super alcoholysis degree:
Water-resistant films, specialty paper applications and adhesives
Degree of complete alcoholysis:
Fabric finishing, paper and cardboard, adhesives, pressure-sensitive tapes and ceramic adhesives
Medium alcoholysis:
Staple yarn warp sizing, fabric finishing, emulsifier for PVA emulsion and ceramic binder
Partial alcoholysis:
Warp sizing of staple fibers and filaments, pressure-sensitive rewetting adhesives, soil reinforcement, films, and emulsifiers for EVA and PVA emulsions
