What is Ultrafiltration system?
Ultrafiltration (UF) is a type of membrane filtration in which hydrostatic pressure forces a liquid against a semipermeable membrane. A semipermeable membrane is a thin layer of material capable of separating substances when a driving force is applied across the membrane. Once considered a viable technology only for desalination, membrane processes are increasingly employed for removal of bacteria and other microorganisms, particulate material, and natural organic material, which can impart color, tastes, and odors to the water and react with disinfectants to form disinfection byproducts (DBP). As advancements are made in membrane production and module design, capital and operating costs continue to decline.
Ultrafiltration (UF) SYSTEM is a membrane separation process with screening as the separation principle and pressure as the driving force. The supercooling accuracy is within 0.005-0.1um, which can effectively remove particles, colloids, bacteria, heat sources and macromolecular organic substances from water. It can be widely used in the separation, concentration and purification of substances. Ultrafiltration process has no phase conversion, and operates at room temperature. It is particularly suitable for the separation of heat sensitive substances, and has good temperature resistance, acid resistance and oxidation resistance. It can be used continuously for a long time under the conditions of below 6O ºC and pH 2-11.

To meet critical discharge criteria, ultrafiltration systems remove the need for clarifiers and multi-media filters. Effective ultrafiltration systems use membranes that can be immersed, back-flushable, and air scoured. Spiral wound UF/MF membranes offer excellent performance for the clarification of process water and waste water.
