High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) is a type of polystyrene (PS) with increased impact strength. Homopolymer PS is frequently brittle, but it can be made more impact resistant by combining it with other materials. This type of PS is typically made by adding 5-10% rubber or butadiene copolymer. This increases the polymer's toughness and impact strength, resulting in a very stiff product that is ideal for packaging applications.

GPPS are glossy, transparent particles. Light quality, low price, low water absorption, good coloring, dimensional stability,good electrical properties, transparent products, easy processing.GPPS are soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, aliphatic ketones and esters but can only swell in aceton. It is resistant to some mineral oils, organic acids,bases, salts, lower alcohols and their aqueous solutions. It has low water absorption and can maintain its mechanical properties and dimensional stability in humid environment. Excellent electrical performance, volume resistance and surface resistance are high, and is not affected by temperature, humidity changes, also not affected by corona discharge. Radiation resistance is also very good.
