Product Description

The gas-insulated load switches of type VNA-10 are designed for switching on and off under load sections of electrical circuits with three-phase alternating current rated at 400 A and 630 A, with a frequency of 50-60 Hz, and a nominal voltage of up to 10 kV. They also provide safe operation for maintenance work on the de-energized section using stationary grounding devices.
The PRBD-10 drive is intended for manual operation of the switch. In the off position, the VNA-10 creates a visible break in the electrical circuit, similar to a regular isolator. When disconnected, an arc forms between the arc-extinguishing contacts. Due to the high temperature of the arc, polymethyl methacrylate releases a large amount of gases, which extinguish the arc.
When closing, the arc-extinguishing contacts are closed first, followed by the main contacts. When opening, the main contacts are opened first, followed by the arc-extinguishing contacts.
The VNA includes a locking mechanism that prevents the grounding blades from being closed when the switch is in the on position and vice versa. The blades are operated by a separate mechanical drive (PRBD) connected to the load switch via a mechanical transmission. The switch drive can be placed either on the right (P) or on the left (L) relative to the main shaft of the switch.
Load switches with a rated current of 400 A are made with polymer insulators IOLp-10; those rated at 630 A use porcelain insulators IOR-10-3.75. At the customer's request, a device with a rated current of 630 A can also be manufactured with polymer insulators.
