Introduction:
The wet drum magnetic separator consists of a rotating magnetic drum situated in a tank that receives the feed slurry. The magnetic drum has a stationary, shaft mounted permanent magnetic circuit completely enclosed by a rotating drum. The magnetic drum is mounted in a tank. Slurry is fed to the tank and subsequently flows through the magnetic field generated by the drum. The ferromagnetics are attracted to the drum shell by the magnetic circuit and are rotated out of the slurry stream. The ferromagnetics discharge from the drum shell when rotated out of the magnetic field.

Work principle:
After the ore pulp flow into the magnetic separator chute,the ore will be processed by the magnetic drum separator and flow across the surface of the drum. As the magnetic drum rotates, all non ferrous product which is unaffected by the magnet falls free from the drum into the cleaned material flow. Any ferrous material is attracted by the magnetic field and held on the drum's surface. As the magnetic drum rotates, the metal is carried and released outside of the magnetic field.

The drum can be equipped with three kinds of tanks:
Concurrent-rotation tank(Series CTS),

Application Range: Usually suitable for the separation of coarse-grained strong magnetic minerals,which is applicable to rougher flotation and concentration of ore with size: 0~10mm
Advantages: Large processing capacity, relatively simple structure, and convenient operation.
Disadvantages: The concentrate grade may be relatively low, and the recovery effect for fine-grained minerals is not good enough.
Magnetic Force Strength: The magnetic force intensity is moderate and can effectively handle coarse-grained minerals.
Other Characteristics: The flow direction of the pulp is the same as that of the magnetic field, which is beneficial to the loosening and separation of minerals to a certain extent.
Counter current-rotation tank (Series CTN):

Application Range: Suitable for the separation of fine-grained strong magnetic minerals and has a good effect on the separation of minerals with high grade requirements,which is applicable to rougher flotation and concentration of ore with size: 0~0.6mm and the recovery of heavy-medium in coal preparation industry
Advantages: High concentrate grade and good recovery rate, and can effectively reduce magnetic inclusion.
Disadvantages: The equipment structure is relatively complex, and the processing capacity may be slightly lower than that of the cocurrent type.
Magnetic Force Strength: It has strong magnetic force and can exert effective magnetic force on fine-grained minerals.
Other Characteristics: The flow direction of the pulp is opposite to the rotation direction of the cylinder, which is conducive to improving the separation accuracy.
Semi counter current-rotation tank (Series CTB):

Application Range: Widely used in the separation of medium and fine-grained strong magnetic minerals with strong applicability,which is applicable to rougher flotation and concentration of ore with size: 0~1mm.
Advantages: It has some advantages of both the cocurrent type and the countercurrent type, and the concentrate grade and recovery rate are relatively balanced.
Disadvantages: In some cases, the treatment effect on extremely fine-grained minerals may not be as good as that of specialized fine-grained treatment equipment.
Magnetic Force Strength: The magnetic force intensity is moderately strong and can adapt to the separation of minerals of various particle sizes.
Other Characteristics: The pulp is fed from below the tank body, which can not only ensure a certain concentrate grade but also have a good recovery rate.
