Product Description

Oxalic acid
Oxalic acid is colorless crystal or white powder at room temperature, hygroscopic, soluble in water, ethanol and ether, slightly
soluble in chloroform. Oxalic acid, which has a melting point of about 190-191°C, breaks down into carbon dioxide and carbon
monoxide during heating. It is strongly acidic and can react with bases to form oxalates. It is also reductive and can be used to
remove rust spots and bleach. Due to its toxicity, oxalic acid needs to be handled carefully to avoid inhalation or contact with the
skin. It is commonly used in industrial cleaning, dyes, chemical analysis and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Oxalic acid finds various applications across different industries. Here are some common uses:
Industrial Cleaning: Oxalic acid is utilized as a cleaner for rust removal, especially in industries dealing with metal surfaces and
equipment.Textile Industry: It's employed as a bleaching agent and for dyeing processes in textiles. Woodworking: Oxalic acid is
used to remove stains and dark spots from wood surfaces, particularly in furniture restoration. Bleaching Agent: It's utilized in
some bleaching processes for substances like straw, wood, and textiles. Photography: In the past, oxalic acid was used in developing
photographic films, although its use has diminished with digital photography's rise.
